Shoe brand of the year in Germany

    
Schuhkurier, the leading specialist shoe magazine in Germany, set a 15-person (excuse me, how many?!) jury to work to select the shoe brand of the year. And, ohmygosh & gadzooks, who came out winner… Floris van Bommel! 

We rounded up the entire family and planted them in a plane to pick up the award in Munich. My dad was probably the proudest of all. He spoke of a highlight in our 277-year history. My brothers and me were mostly feeling embarrassed because of our butchering of the German language in the introductory video (a German journalist once complimented me on the fact that my ‘fake German’ was very good). Our German friends in Munich, however, emphasised that our awkward German was actually rather 'süß'. A good chuckle-video:

All in all, receiving the Schuhkurier Award was a great honour and a fantastic encouragement. Therefore: a well-meant Dankeschoen to Schuhkurier and a thank-you-very-much to all German friends of our company (retailers, wearers, press, breweries)

Oh, just one other thing... I am also going to get married... to Beverly... Cursed be the bars that serve free drinks! I agreed upon a mariage towards the end of the evening, just after she had asked me if I thought she was ‘hot’ and I told her that she was hotter than a comet crashing into lava at a speed of one million miles an hour...
